Halifax Consciousness Scanner (HCS)
The HCS is a diagnostic, monitoring, and management solution for concussion, brain injury, and neurodegenerative diseases. The HCS objectively assess a patient’s level of conscious awareness in order to overcome issues in the diagnosis and management of concussion and other neurocognitive problems including major brain injury. The HCS comprises a customized headset embedded with electroencephalography (EEG) technology, a proprietary event-related potential stimulus delivery system, and custom built data capture and analysis engines.
Prototypes of the HCS were designed and developed for Mindful Scientific Inc as a proof of concept to test the form factor, adjustability, flexibility, and the fit of a 7 electrode EEG monitor aiming to fit various sized and shaped heads.
